12/20/2018 0 Comments Class Feedback BlogDuring my Broadcast Technology class I learned so much about broadcast. Going into it I never thought I would get to use final cut pro or work in the TV studio. My favorite part about the class was working in the studio. That is why I wish we did more of that. I thought learning the positions was very fun and interesting and really gave me a feel for what a real TV studio would be like. I am definitely interested in taking Broadcast Tech II next year because I would love to further learn about broadcasting. I had lots of fun in this class and got to be very creative with my work!

12/20/2018 0 Comments Humans of LadueDoing the interview unit in my Broadcast Technology class has taught me a lot about editing and filming. After we interviewed Lauren Vanlandingham from Ladue Sparkle Effect we had to get b-roll. Lily and I are apart of Sparkle so at one of our Monday practices we got b-roll of practice. We noticed that it was hard to get a lot of good b-roll because dancing is all about moving around. This made getting close-up shots really hard. Therefore we had to pull back on the video a little bit. We also decided to film at the coaches vs. cancer game that Sparkle was performing at. I learned many important things about broadcast and it was a really fun project to do! 12/12/2018 0 Comments Interviewing an Expert

The past couple weeks I have learned to work with the cameras and final cut pro in Broadcast Technology. I learned how to sign everything out and make sure everything is ready so I can start to film! One of our first projects was to go in the cafeteria and film a variety of shots to tell a little story. I went with my group of 3 into the cafeteria and we started filming! We filmed a wide, medium, tight, extreme tight, and a reestablishing shot. Then, it was time to edit. This was my first time using final cut pro. In middle school the only editing software we worked with was iMovie. I was shocked to see all the endless things I could do on final cut pro that I never had access to on iMovie. To get started, we edited something called "Circus Wagon." This is a variety of shots mixed with transitions, filters, title slides, and music. It may look a little crazy at first but it is only to get us familiar with the editing program. Our next project was a little more professional. We edited together 6 shots from the multipurpose room and added transitions in the audio and learned how to change the color or saturation the shot. I have learned many new things and I can't wait to use them in my future videos.
